NEW 2014 RELEASE! – (Physical CD)

Based on “Inferno” by Dante Alighieri, Everlasting Fire is a storyline album that walks through each circle of hell in the same order as the poem.

In order to do the storyline justice, Sit Kitty Sit had to reach far outside their normal scope of music to include other genres, writing styles, lyrical styles, and sounds that are not-quite-human to present an album that is equal parts Rock, Nuevo-Gregorian Chant, Heavy Metal, Folk, Tango, Circus, Contemporary, and Blues, all while mantaining the Classically-doused Rock sound that SKS is known for.

Tracks: Canto 1 | Life #6 | The Pulse | Bleeds September | O Fortune | When I Get to Heaven | Roots | New Religion | Canto 12 | Birmingham | The Abyss | Canto 18 | Ditch. | Superbia | Whimper

Total running time: 58 minutes, 52 seconds

About “Inferno” by Dante Alighieri

Written in the 14th century, “Inferno (Italian for “hell”) is part one of a three-part allegorical epic poem called “The Divine Comedy” in which the lead character (Dante, himself) is lead through Hell, the Purgatory, then Heaven.

“Inferno” is the most well know of the three parts and many of the gruesome and malevolent images of hell we use in mainstream society today actually stemmed from this writing.  Its reference of the seven deadly sins and its graphic imagery has been used in endless art pieces for centuries.

In more modern times, “Inferno” has been used in such movies as “Se7en”, “What Dreams May Come”, and “Dante’s Inferno” Most of us have at one time or another heard the phrase “Abandon all hope, ye who enter here,” which is the warning inscribed on the door of Hell.
