We are so thrilled to have brought the video for “Burst” into the world. It is the third release off of our 2018 album, Tectonic.
Burst captures the dual voices that Kat Downs experienced in her head during a long and difficult depression during which she was suicidal for seven months.
One voice was negative, one was positive.
To capture this experience Downs wrote a single piece of instrumental piano music and then used that as the basis to compose two completely different songs – one in each voice. Once both songs were written she played them at the same time – and “Burst” was born.
